APPLY NOWAbout the Instructor Mentorship Program
The Instructor Mentorship Program is designed for students who are on their teacher training journey and have been training in a Balanced Body program. Over three months, you'll immerse yourself in Pilates inside a professional studio environment under the guidance of experienced Balanced Body Educators.
This is not a certification program. It's a structured opportunity to bridge the gap between formal training and real-world teaching through mentorship, supervised practice teaching, and observation.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have taken Movement Principles
- Must have taken Mat 1 and/or Reformer 1
- Must have prior experience with Pilates as a student
- Must have 10 hours practice teaching (support is available to help you complete these hours)
Program Goals
- Experience and understand the foundations and basics of the Balanced Body Pilates repertoire
- Gain confidence as an instructor (verbal cueing, apparatus setup, and hands-on cueing)
- Safely and effectively lead clients through level-appropriate exercises
Group Intentions & Expectations
Come in with reasonable expectations for what testing out takes. Before you start, think through how many hours a week or month you'll give to:
- Observation, with note taking and takeaways
- Personal practice, with strategies to cover all of your course curriculum
- Practice teaching the actual curriculum you're learning, with other BBE students
One-on-One and Group Class Skills
This is the foundation covered in the 3-month Mentorship.
- Learn the names of all the Level 1 exercises, the equipment set ups, and the physical starting positions, and memorize the choreography
- Verbally guide and coach students into and out of each exercise
- Build your class plans:
- Discuss and create your intro session plan for new clients at different fitness levels
- Discuss and create sessions 1 to 5 with an experienced Pilates student or someone at fitness level 3
- Create at least two Level 1 mat, reformer, and/or full multi-apparatus sessions
- Create at least two bridges from beginner to intermediate, using the mat, reformer, or apparatus that match your training so far
- Teach back with supervision and peer-to-peer feedback
- Complete a coached practice session with your mentor to check your comprehension and skills before moving on to teaching the intermediate next steps in Months 2 and 3
- Practice your leadership skills: standing and delivering with confidence and certainty
- Develop leadership skills to encourage your clients to practice Movement Principles and mat on their own, to accelerate their progress in proprioception, strength, and mobility

2hr Student Teacher Mentoring | Plan, Practice, Refine & Teach Back
Offered Wednesdays and Fridays
Two hours of Mentoring with supervised teaching practice for Balanced Body® Pilates students. Bring a class plan, get help building it out or refining it, and practice teaching it to other student teachers with feedback from your instructor and your peers.
In class you'll work on the names, equipment set ups, and starting positions for the Level 1 exercises, memorize the choreography, and practice guiding students into and out of each exercise with your voice. You'll build and refine session plans for new clients at different fitness levels. You'll teach back with supervision, get peer feedback, and work on standing and delivering with confidence.
Become a strong leader who inspires their clients to own their personal Pilates practice. Every class counts toward your practice teaching and observation hours.
Who it's for: Student teachers enrolled in a Balanced Body training program who've completed their Level 1 classes. Maybe you want help turning coursework into sessions you can teach, or you already have sessions built and want more refinement and supervised teach-back time. Open to all student teachers, whether you're in the Mentorship program or not.
Who it's not for: This is a teacher-training class, not a client workout. It's not for anyone who hasn't started a Balanced Body program or finished at least Level 1 Mat or Reformer.
Come with a class plan for an intro session and/or a Level 1 mat or reformer session, preferably one you've practice taught a few times.
*This class can be purchased as a single drop-in or as a pack of 4, and is included at no extra charge in the 3-Month Mentorship Program.

Program Commitment & Withdrawal Policy
- The Mentorship is a 3-month commitment. We're able to offer this much value at this price because everyone in the program commits to the full three months — it's what makes the group format, the instructor time, and the studio scheduling work. When someone doesn't follow through, it changes the cost for the whole group and for the studio. That's why we ask for a full commitment before you enroll, and why we don't accept cancellations once the program starts.
- If a student withdraws, or is dismissed from the program, any classes, coached practice sessions, or other benefits already used are re-billed at current à la carte rates rather than the Mentorship rate.
- Studio access for practice teaching and observation ends on the date of withdrawal or dismissal.
