Moving Beyond Core
a somatic exploration with
Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle
What if gravity was your greatest teacher?
Most movement training teaches you to stabilize, brace, and control. Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle has spent over 50 years asking a different question.
"What if gravity wasn't your opponent, but your greatest teacher that you can befriend and partner with — so you discover effort with ease?" — Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle
This two-day event brings her work to Body Awareness Studio. Whether you're here as a Pilates client deepening your practice or a teacher ready to rethink how you teach, this is something different.
Core as relationship. Breath as power. A spine that communicates rather than braces.
Two Days
What's happening
Each day has its own format. You can attend one or both — they work together, but neither requires the other.
Direct, personalized coaching with Wendy in a small-group format. These sessions are built for sensing, discovery, and new awareness — not correction. Wendy works with each person through her "effort with ease" lens, helping you feel the difference between bracing and true whole-body relationship.
Sessions are booked directly via a sign-up sheet. Select your preferred time slot, then choose Private (solo) or Open to Share (willing to have others join at adjusted pricing).
Note: If you select "Open to Share" and no one joins your slot, you'll be responsible for the $150 private rate. Payment is collected prior to your session.
This is the workshop. The morning session (9:00am–12:00pm) takes place at Peachtree Yoga Center, then the afternoon (1:00pm–4:00pm) continues at Body Awareness Studio. The full day is built around the ideas in Wendy's book — a hands-on somatic exploration of whole-body relationships through Pilates and movement.
Open to Pilates practitioners and instructors (Reformer 1 flow and above recommended). Instructors: this qualifies for 6 NCPT CECs — all 6 hours must be attended.
Full-Day Workshop
Sunday, July 26 · 9:00am–4:00pm · Peachtree Yoga Center (morning) → Body Awareness Studio (afternoon)
What you'll explore
The work itself
Wendy moves across four core ideas. Each one reframes something most practitioners take for granted.
Core as Relationship
Moving from a static, bracing model of "core" to core as a living relationship — with gravity, yourself, others, and your environment.
Dynamic Fluidity
The body isn't a structure to be stabilized. It's a fluid system designed for movement, responsiveness, and self-tuning through the fascial matrix.
Breath as Power
Rediscovering breath — and what Wendy calls "being breathed" — as a pathway to nervous system regulation and whole-body resilience.
Bio-Intelligence
Learning to access and trust the body's own deep wisdom rather than overriding it with external correction and control strategies.
About Wendy
50 years. One big idea.
Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle didn't set out to become one of the most influential voices in movement education. In the 1980s, she watched a group of dancers move in a way she'd never seen. She asked what they'd studied. They said: Pilates. She went to New York, trained under Romana, and opened one of the first Pilates studios in Austin, TX in 1990.
What followed was five decades of studying, teaching, and refining a single question: what does it actually mean to move well? Her answer — grounded in somatics, fascia research, and whole-body systems thinking — became the foundation of her 3CoreConnections® approach.
